Jane Stephenson, Executive Producer

Before joining the Media Trust, Jane spent nearly 20 years as a producer and director for the BBC and Channel 4. She directed documentaries for the Modern Times and Cutting Edge strands and was executive producer of the award-winning 'River Cottage'. For the Media Trust she has produced films for charities such as The Prince's Trust, Cancer Research UK, Barnardo's and Shelter (IVCA Silver Award); For Sky1 she made 'Abnormally Funny People' (Superfest Award) and for Channel Five, four highly-acclaimed series about the arts and mental health. She is currently executive producer of a campaigning feature documentary about child workers in Bangladesh ('Mass e Bhat').
 

Melanie Plowman, Production Supervisor

Melanie first joined Media Trust as a volunteer in November 2005. From early 2006 onwards she worked as Production Co-ordinator on a diverse range of projects including 'What can Science do for me?', 'Mad for Music' and the series 'Spotting Cancer Early'. As Production Supervisor she is responsible for managing freelance staff and the day-to-day needs of our projects from development through to delivery. Her most recent projects are 'Lording It' - a debate between disadvantaged young people at the House of Lords and The Prince's Trust 'Celebrate Success' award films.

We recruit media professionals to work on our productions on a case-by-case basis ensuring that each filmmaker has the exact creative and professional experience to suit the project. Award winning filmmakers we have worked with recently include Sarah Hamilton (Million Dollar Traders, BBC2), Deborah Lovett (Doctors at War, ITV) and Christopher Heary (Bizarre ER, BBC Three).
